His mother tried to encourage him. "No one is going to laugh at you," she said gently. "Why do you think they would?"

Dax looked at himself in the mirror on the wall by his bed. "I have an eye in the middle of my forehead... My nose is funny... My feet are different sizes. They WILL laugh, I just know it." Dax said. "Being different is no fun. I want to be the same as everyone else."
