His mother sat on his bed. "Oh, Dax.
I thought you would be so excited. It's
such a fun school. You will make so many
new friends."

   

Dax was not convinced. "I don't want to go. I'm different. Everyone will look at me funny. I won't have any friends. It will be awful."

His mother smiled and said, "Oh Dax... we are all so different. That is what makes you unique or one of a kind. You are Dax, no one else can be Dax."

Dax pulled his blanket up to his chin and pouted. "I don't want to be different... I want to be like everyone else. I want to look like the other kids and I want to sound like the other kids. Then they won't laugh at me."
